On November 25-26.2020, our team participated in the international 20th conference “Aquatic and Terrestrial Ecotoxicology and Risk Management” organized by Die Akademie Fresenius GmbH.
The progress of work on new and updated EFSA guidelines was presented. Much attention was paid to the latest developments in animal testing, protection of red-listed species, and general risk assessment requirements. The results of the determination of pesticide residues in fertilizers were presented along with their influence on arthropods. Research into mesocosms and strategies in experimental evaluation of results was also discussed. Besides, much attention was paid to regulatory studies for Red Mason bees, and reference was made to mathematical models used in complex ecotoxicological studies.
The subject matter that was discussed was mainly aimed at raising awareness of the importance of assessing entire ecosystems when assessing the risk for chemical products and making regulatory decisions in this regard.
