On November 24-25, 2020, the Sorbolab representatives participated in the virtual XI International Conference on “Endocrine Disruptors” organized by Die Akademie Fresenius GmbH
The subject of the conference included the issues related to active substances used in pesticides. The development of chemical performance assessment projects such as Athena or Goliath or the ERGO project was highlighted. The latest updates of guidelines for environmental risk assessment studies on human drug contamination and their potential impact on endocrine disruptions were discussed. The evaluation process starts with physical – chemical studies, environmental toxicity and environmental fate assessment, to ultimately provide a complete picture of the endocrine disrupting side-effect of the tested drug. The conference also presented progress in the validation of the method to extend the application of research on Danio rerio fish.
